Urban Dictionary Definition Generator

The Urban Dictionary Definition Generator recreates a definition card from the current Urban Dictionary mobile site: the big bold serif headword with its speaker icon, the grey Share and Flag icons, the meaning with blue underlined links, the italic example behind its blue bar, the “word by author” date line, the optional Word of the Day line, the rounded up and down vote pill, the Ask UD button and the “Get the word mug.” strip. Choose light or dark mode, the large top-definition style or the tighter style used further down the page, and add the site header with its breadcrumb trail if you like. Export a crisp, high-resolution PNG. Everything runs in your browser, with no account and no uploads.

New

Casing is kept as typed. UD shows the author's own (Yeet, yeet, YEET).

Wrap words in [brackets] to make blue underlined links. A blank line makes a paragraph break. UD links 5 to 9 fairly random words per card, and never the defined word itself.

[Brackets] work here too. Quotes are shown exactly as typed, straight or curly.

A grey second line under the author. It shows on definitions that were picked as Word of the Day.

UD prints plain numbers with no commas or K (41909, not 41.9K).

UD translates this label when the site language changes.

The site follows your phone's setting. Dark is what dark-mode iPhones see.

The top card has a bigger headword and looser line spacing. Cards further down the page are tighter.

Only shows when UD has audio for the word.

Cuts the card out as a sticker. Hides the site header.

The dark search bar and the breadcrumb row above the card.

Urban Dictionary Definition Generator features

The current Urban Dictionary card

Lora headword, Source Sans text, blue underlined links, the italic example with its left bar, and the exact vote pill, Ask UD button and mug strip from today's mobile site.

Clickable-looking links

Wrap any word or phrase in [brackets] in the meaning or example and it turns into a blue underlined link, just like the words Urban Dictionary links for you.

Author, date and Word of the Day

Set the author name and posting date, and add the grey “Word of the Day on…” line for words that were featured.

Votes the way UD shows them

Type any up and down vote counts. They print as plain numbers with no commas, and you can show the card as already upvoted or downvoted.

Light, dark and site header

Switch between Urban Dictionary's light and dark themes, pick the top-definition or later-definition style, and add the search bar and Browse breadcrumb above the card.

How to make a urban dictionary definition mockup

  1. 1

    Write the definition

Type the word, its meaning and an example. Put [brackets] around anything that should look like a link and use blank lines for paragraph breaks.

  2. 2

    Add the author and votes

Enter the author name and date, turn on the Word of the Day line if you want it, and set the up and down vote counts.

  3. 3

    Style the card

Pick light or dark mode, the top or later card style, and turn the speaker icon, Ask UD button, mug strip and site header on or off.

  4. 4

    Export your PNG

Download a sharp, high-resolution PNG, or switch on the transparent background to get the card on its own as a sticker.

What you can use it for

Frequently asked questions

Is the Urban Dictionary Definition Generator free?

Yes. It is completely free with no login, no account and no export limits. A Pro option removes the watermark and doubles the export resolution.

Is it legal to make a fake Urban Dictionary definition?

Clearly fictional mockups are fine for jokes, memes, design work and teaching. Don't use one to harass or defame a real person, don't present it as a real entry, and respect Urban Dictionary's trademarks.

How do I make words blue and underlined?

Put square brackets around them, for example [group chat]. Each bracketed part becomes its own underlined link, so two linked words side by side get separate underlines, just like on the real site.

Does it have dark mode?

Yes. Urban Dictionary follows your phone's light or dark setting, and the generator has both themes, including the navy dark card and the brighter blue links.

Why do the vote counts have no commas?

Because Urban Dictionary shows them that way. The real site prints plain numbers such as 41909, so the generator removes any commas you type to keep the screenshot convincing.

Where is the Top Definition badge and thumbs-up button?

The current Urban Dictionary site has neither. It marks the first definition with a larger headword instead of a badge, and since the 2026 redesign votes use an up and down arrow pill instead of thumbs. The generator copies the current design.
