Restaurant Receipt Generator
The Restaurant Receipt Generator recreates the 80 mm thermal receipt that a restaurant point-of-sale terminal prints, built right in your browser. You can set the restaurant header, the server, table and check number, itemized dishes with indented modifiers, subtotal, tax, tip and total. It also covers the card payment block with entry mode, auth code and EMV lines, plus customer or merchant copies with a signature and suggested-tip section. Everything prints in a monospace thermal typeface on an off-white paper strip with a torn edge. It is free, needs no login and runs entirely on your device, so creators, designers, educators and filmmakers can make clearly fictional receipt props in seconds.
18 / 32 · up to 21 characters print double-size
"Refund" prints amounts negative and drops every tip line. Toast prints the date as 8/23/26 after “Ordered:”.
Price is the line total (qty × unit). Names up to 31 characters fit on one printed row.
Subtotal $44.50 · Tax $3.67 · Total $48.17
Leave blank for an open check with write-in tip lines.
Up to 42 characters per printed line.

A 42-column monospace layout, double-size header and TOTAL, hyphen rule separators, a zig-zag torn edge and optional aged paper, faded ink and print-head banding.
Itemized orders with modifiers
Add up to 12 items with quantities, line prices and up to four indented modifiers each, like + Add Bacon or No Onions, then reorder them freely.
Automatic totals
Subtotal, tax at any rate, discounts, service charges, tip and the grand total are calculated for you, or you can switch to manual amounts.
Card, cash and merchant copies
Print a card block with masked last four digits, entry mode, CVM, auth code, AID and EMV lines, a cash tendered and change block, or a merchant copy with tip and signature lines.
High-resolution PNG export
The receipt is rendered client-side at a high pixel ratio on a dark, light or transparent desk backdrop, so the small type stays crisp in stories, videos and slides.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Restaurant Receipt Generator free?
Yes. You can create and export restaurant receipt mockups for free with no account or sign-up required. A Pro option removes the watermark and doubles the export resolution.
Is it legal to make a fake restaurant receipt?
Clearly fictional receipts for design comps, film and video props, education, memes and storytelling are fine. Never use a generated receipt to claim expenses, request reimbursement, return goods or deceive anyone, because that is fraud.
Does it calculate tax and tip automatically?
Yes. With automatic totals on, the subtotal is summed from your items and modifiers, tax is applied at the rate you enter, and the tip, discount and service charge are added to the total. On merchant copies, suggested tip amounts are worked out from the subtotal.
Can I make a merchant copy with a signature line?
Yes. Switch the copy type to Merchant to replace the printed tip with blank Tip and Total lines, an X signature line and a Suggested Tip row, and the footer label changes to MERCHANT COPY.
Does the receipt contain real card or payment data?
No. Only the last four digits you type are shown, and the barcode is a decorative pattern that does not encode anything. All sample restaurants, addresses and phone numbers are fictional.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The generator runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser and saves your last receipt in local storage on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
