Stack Overflow Question Generator

The Stack Overflow Question Generator recreates a real desktop question page: the 27px regular-weight title, the meta row with asked, modified and viewed counts, the vote gutter with its solid triangle arrows and bold score, a prose body carrying inline code chips and a highlighted code block, the grey tag row, and the blue owner card with reputation and gold, silver and bronze badge dots. Add answers with the green accepted checkmark, switch the whole page to dark mode, then export a crisp, high-resolution PNG. Everything renders live in your browser — no account, no uploads, and nothing ever leaves your device.

58 / 150 characters — rendered at 27px, weight 400 (never bold, never blue).

Raw integer — Stack Overflow never abbreviates the gutter score.

17 / 40

21 / 40

Lowercase k / m — e.g. 41k, 2.0m, 1,204.

234 / 900 characters — new lines start a new paragraph, `backticks` become inline code chips.

163 / 900 characters — leave empty to hide the block.

6 / 20 characters

P

17 / 40 characters

Lowercase k, one decimal under 100k — 12.4k, 507k, 986.

A tier set to 0 hides its dot and its number entirely.

26 / 48 — recent dates drop the year ("edited Apr 8 at 05:35").

Leave empty to derive "1 Answer" / "N Answers" from the rows below.

All three default to off so the export crops tightly to the post.

Stack Overflow Question Generator features

True Stack Overflow typography

Built on Stack Overflow's real 13px root scale, so the 27px regular-weight title, 15px/22.5px prose and 19px bold vote score land exactly where they do on the live site.

Real vote gutter and glyphs

Hand-drawn solid triangle arrows inside the 41px pill outlines, plus the bookmark, history and 36px green accepted checkmark taken straight from Stack Overflow's own icon sprite.

Syntax-highlighted code blocks

Paste any snippet and get the site's real highlighting palette for keywords, strings, comments and numbers, with an optional language label and Copy button, plus inline code chips from backticks.

Answers, tags and reputation

Add up to five tags and three answers, mark one accepted, and set each user's display name, reputation and gold, silver and bronze badge counts — a tier set to zero hides itself, exactly like the real card.

Light and dark themes

Every colour has both a light and a dark value read from the live site, so switching themes repaints the page, code block, tags and owner card correctly in one click.

Add up to five tags, then fill in the asker's name, reputation, badge counts and avatar, and add any answers you need.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Stack Overflow Question Generator free?

Yes. It is completely free with no login, no account and no export limits. A Pro option removes the watermark and doubles the export resolution.

Is it safe and legal to make fake Stack Overflow posts?

Clearly fictional mockups are fine for tutorials, slide decks, conference talks and memes. Never use them to impersonate a real user, fabricate evidence or mislead anyone, and respect Stack Overflow's trademarks and content policies.

Does the code block get syntax highlighting?

Yes. Highlighting is on by default and uses Stack Overflow's own colours for keywords, strings, comments, numbers and function names. You can switch it off for a flat, unhighlighted block.

How do I add inline code inside a sentence?

Wrap the text in backticks. Anything between backticks becomes a grey inline code chip in the mono font, exactly like the real site renders it.

Can I show an accepted answer?

Yes. Add an answer and switch on Accepted, and the 36px green checkmark appears beneath the down arrow in that answer's vote gutter.

Can I upload avatars?

Yes. Upload and crop a square avatar for the asker and for each answerer. Images are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to a server.
